Job Summary
We are a broadline distributor with a cash n carry operation delivering quality food, service and custom solutions to foodservice operators and restaurants throughout the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut markets.
We are seeking a reliable and organized Transportation Manager Assistant to support the Transportation Manager with the daily transportation operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for route coordination, delivery tracking, communicating with drivers and customers and maintain accurate transportation records.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Transportation Manager daily
- Monitor delivery progress and communicate delays or changes as needed.
- Assist with daily route scheduling
- Report promptly any shortages, damages or discrepancies.
- Coordinate with customer service, warehouse, sales and any other departments regarding deliveries.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Experience in transportation, dispatch,logistics or warehousing
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Good communication and problem -solving skills
- Foodservice distribution or delivery experience is a plus
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn warehouse system.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast -paces transportation environment
- Occasional movement throughout warehouse and transportation areas
- Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions
